Use the Online BIDS Validator

Caution: Browser Caching

If something goes wrong in an ezBIDS session, you may need to clear your web browser cache to address the problem! Even starting with a fresh upload of the data may not be sufficient!

✅ Unzip the BIDS dataset (NAD1.zip). This results in a directory called bids.

✅ Open online BIDS Validator and select your finished bids directory for validation. If you or ezBIDS forgot anything, the BIDS validator should find it (The online BIDS validator is a general BIDS tool and is not part of ezBIDS).

No HIPAA concerns here!

BIDS validator does not upload your image files. This means it is fast and does not violate HIPAA.

Note: BIDS Validator is not perfect

You should get experience with the online BIDS validator even though ezBIDS runs validation for you. This is because you could have other datasets in the future that you want to validate and you need a flexible solution, like the online BIDS validator. The BIDS validator does not always tell you all the details you need to fix the problems, but it identifies which files are a problem and leaves the sleuthing up to you. Be patient, the tools will continue to improve.

✅ If there are any problems, BIDS validator will report errors and offer you an error log to download ( marked in red below).
