In the code below, we’ve revamped how our paper rock scissors game works. It now accepts user input, which is automatically converted to lowercase for consistency. This is done with the .lower(). The computer generates its choice randomly using the random library. We will cover libraries more later on.

Since we can’t directly input our selection in environments like OpenClass, this functionality is handled behind the scenes and will do predetermined test cases.

We will also incorporated an if statement to validate the user’s input. This demonstrates a practical use case for if statements. This is ensuring that inputs are as expected and is providing error messages when they’re not. Input validation is especially critical in scenarios like allowing users to update a database. By standardizing data through logic tests, we ensure the correctness and reliability of the system.
