Mango Program and Data

Because the scanner produces images in the DICOM format, you should understand how to view this DICOM data and check that it has the expected characteristics. This is important because sometimes a series, or even some images in a series will fail to transfer from the scanner. This could happen whether you transfer automatically or copy everything to a USB key at the scanner. You need to be vigilant about this and check as soon as possible for problems.

Once you start the Neuroimaging Desktop virtual machine, you can access Mango from the Neuroimaging Apps:

You should see the directory MRIS, and nested inside that is a dicom directory.

Dataset Description

This Dicom dataset for sub-219 was acquired in July 2018 on the U of A Siemens Research scanner. Dianne Patterson is the subject, participating as a control in a study designed by Aneta Kielar. The dataset is publicly available for educational purposes, and is probably similar to, though not exactly the same as, datasets you may acquire or work with. Datasets acquired a decade ago included different choices because the scanner and software capabilities were different.
