TrafficLight

TrafficLight (qmtraffic) - Normalizes (z-scores) a set of MRIQC image quality metrics and creates a tabular HTML report visualizing how much each image's metrics deviate from the mean of that set. The TrafficLight report uses color to facilitate quality assessment.

For example, entry 13 is better than entry 6 in the table below:
- The values in entry 13 are near the mean and often deviate toward the good direction (green).
- By comparison, several values in entry 6 have extreme z-score values in the bad direction (red).

Analogy: A grade on a test

Think of these colors as grades. In the middle of the range is the class average. If the participant achieves a good score, it will be increasingly green. If the participant has a bad score, it will be increasingly red. -Thanks to Ted Trouard for this helpful analogy!

Caution!

The results of the traffic tool make the most sense for measures that are normally distributed. You can use qmviolin tool (described below) to see the distribution of each IQM. Thanks to Shashank Yadav for pointing this out!
