Summary

In this lesson you used the Unix command line. Most importantly, you set up Google cloud shell and explored its layout, used the tutorial system, and actually worked at the terminal using the commands introduced in the previous lesson. If you haven't done this before, that is a lot! One important concept you explored is the path, which is a way to specify the location of a file or directory.

Macs are Unix systems

BTW, if you have a Mac, then you have a terminal very much like the one you just used in Google cloud shell. You Mac will include man pages though! What you learn in Google Cloud Shell, you can apply to the terminal on your mac. Modern macs use Z-shell instead of Bash, but they are very similar (but Z-shell has a single configuration file, not a bunch of interacting configuration files).
