DataLad

Many neuroimaging datasets are freely available online. You may download these and analyze them yourself.
Unfortunately, neuroimaging datasets tend to be very large. It is frustrating to have to download a huge directory just to figure out what's in it!
DataLad comes to the rescue because many large neuroimaging repositories make their contents available through DataLad.
DataLad is a version control system like git, except DataLad can handle large binary files using git-annex.
DataLad allows you to clone datasets:

Cloning datasets is fast, and typically done in a matter of seconds. The resulting dataset contains the names and content identities of all files in the dataset, but it is only a fraction of the total data size as all those [binary] files do not yet contain file content. https://handbook.datalad.org/en/latest/usecases/openneuro.html
