Arrays

JavaScript provides a data type for storing sequences of values.

It is called an array
It is written as a list of values between square brackets, separated by commas.
Example: var cars = ["Toyota", "Audi", "BMW"];

Basically, an array is a variable object that can store multiple elements in a sequence manner. And, the elements of an array can be text, numbers, etc. For example, var myArray = [3, 79, 4, 6];

Creating an Array

The easiest way to create an array is by using an array literal square brackets [ ]

Remember! Values between the square brackets are separated by commas.

Example: fruits = ['Apple', 'Banana']

Accessing Elements of an Array

The notation for getting at the elements inside an array also uses square brackets.

For example: If we have this array: var cars = ["Toyota", "Audi", "BMW"];
cars[0] will display "Toyota"
cars[1] will display "Audi"
cars[2] will display "BMW"

=> Note: The first index of an array is zero, not one. So the first element retrieved with cars[0]

Array length

You can find the length of an element (the number of elements in an array) using the length property. For example, cars.length( ) will give 3
