Spawning Enemies

The raid mod is almost complete. Now we just need to quickly spawn the illagers. Lets start with the pillagers. Let's make a command called enemy that will spawn num1 (a number that the user will decide) pillagers in front of the player.

The easiest way to code this command is to use a loop to spawn the pillagers all at the same position.

Just like with the iron golems, we don't want to overcrowd one position, so instead we will spawn the pillagers in a row. Every time we spawn 1 pillager, we will spawn the next one 1 block further to the right.

To do that, we need a variable, x, that we will start at 0. Every time we spawn a pillager, we will increase x by 1.

That code will look like this:

Test this code. Now the first pillager will spawn in front of the player, and the rest will spawn to the right of the player.

What if you want the row of pillagers to start to the left of the player and end on the right? To do this, instead of starting x at 0, we should start it at -num1 / 2. To see why, lets try a few examples.

run command enemy 20:

the total pillagers is 20
first pillager will spawn at x = -num1 / 2 = -20 / 2 = -10
last pillager will spawn at x = -10 + num1 = 10

run command enemy 30:

the total pillagers is 30
first pillager will spawn at x = -num1 / 2 = -30 / 2 = -15
last pillager will spawn at x = -15 + num1 = 15

The code will look like this.

Challenge A

Once you have made a mod to spawn num1 pillagers, add on to the same mod so that it will also spawn witches, evokers, and vindicators next.

Challenge B

Evokers and vindicators are definitely more powerful than pillagers and witches. So to keep your raids from getting too hard, modify the command so that enemy 20 will spawn

20 pillagers
20 witches
10 vindicators (half the number of pillagers)
5 evokers (a quarter of the number of pillagers)

Here's another example. The command enemy 12 will spawn

12 pillagers
12 witches
6 vindicators
3 evokers

Hint: you will need to use code from the Math category.

Challenge C

Up until now, we've been spawning pillagers only 4 blocks in front of the player. However, this is going to be way too close to the player once we switch to survival mode and test out the raid.

Modify the code so it spawns all enemies much further from the player (such as 20-25 blocks in front of the player).
